Every step of the Superstructures process — from your first inquiry to the day your building goes up. Who does what, when, and what you'll need to have ready.

    You Reach Out

    Submit a quote request online, call 907-215-1927, or use the 3D designer to configure a building and submit directly. At this stage we just need the basics: approximate size, location, intended use, and timeline.

  2. RequirementsWho: Superstructures· 1–3 business days

    Josh Reviews Your Project

    Josh Kingery reviews your project details and reaches out — usually within 24 hours on business days. He may have questions about your site, specific requirements, or timeline. This is a real conversation, not a form acknowledgment.

  3. DesignWho: Superstructures + You· 1–2 weeks (custom) / 1–3 days (package)

    Preliminary Configuration

    Working from your requirements, Josh develops a preliminary building configuration: dimensions, eave height, door count and locations, roof system, and any special structural requirements. For package buildings, this phase is short. For custom builds, it may involve multiple rounds of refinement.

  4. EngineeringWho: Varco Pruden (via Superstructures)· 2–4 weeks

    Structural Engineering & Stamped Drawings

    Once the configuration is agreed, Superstructures submits it to Varco Pruden for structural engineering. Varco Pruden's in-house engineering team designs the building to Alaska-specific snow, wind, and seismic requirements for your site. The result is a full set of stamped engineering drawings.

  5. ReviewWho: You· 1–2 weeks (your review)

    You Review & Approve Drawings

    Superstructures sends you the engineering drawings for review. Check every dimension, door location, and framed opening carefully. Changes after this point add cost and delay. Confirm accuracy before approving for manufacturing.

    Do not rush this step. This is your last chance to catch dimensional errors without extra cost.

  6. OrderWho: You + Superstructures· Day of approval

    Order Placement & Deposit

    Upon your approval, Superstructures places the manufacturing order with Varco Pruden. A deposit is required at this time — typically a percentage of the package price. The deposit amount and payment schedule will be agreed in your contract with Superstructures.

  7. ManufacturingWho: Varco Pruden· 8–14 weeks

    Building Fabrication

    Your building is fabricated at the Varco Pruden manufacturing facility. Primary framing is cut, welded, and painted. Panels are roll-formed. Secondary framing and accessories are packaged. Every component is labeled to match your engineering drawings.

    • Panels, trim, and accessories packaged
    • Anchor bolts included
    • Erection drawings prepared
  8. ShippingWho: Shipping carrier (coordinated by Superstructures)· 2–4 weeks

    Alaska Delivery

    Your building package ships from the manufacturing facility to Alaska. Road-accessible sites receive truck delivery. Coastal communities may require barge. Superstructures coordinates shipping logistics. You need to ensure your site is accessible and you have a delivery point ready.

    Final payment is typically due before shipment.

  9. DeliveryWho: You· Delivery day

    Receiving Your Building

    When your building arrives, count every piece against the shipping manifest. Note any damage on the freight documentation before signing. Contact Superstructures immediately if anything is missing or damaged — freight claims must be documented at delivery.

    Inspect every bundle and crate at delivery. Freight damage is common and must be documented on-site.

  10. ErectionWho: Your contractor (separate from Superstructures)· Project-dependent (2–5 days for a 40×60)

    Building Erection

    Your erection contractor puts up the building using the erection drawings included in your package. Every component is labeled to match those drawings. Superstructures provides technical support by phone and email during erection. The erection itself is outside Superstructures' scope but we're here to help when questions arise.

  11. CompleteWho: Superstructures· Ongoing

    Post-Erection Support

    After erection, Superstructures can help with warranty questions, missing components, or technical issues. The 25-year Varco Pruden structural warranty begins at erection. Document your erection completion date.
